Henry Viscardi, Jr., Distinguished Citizen Award 1969

The Fifth Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Banquet and Ball for the benefit of the Dowling College Scholarship Fund was held June 11 at the Huntington Town House. Henry Viscardi, Jr., President of Abilities Inc., and Founder of the Human Resources Center in Albertson, Long Island received the College’s 1969 Distinguished Citizen Award, citing him for “giving new hope and new direction to thousands of handicapped adults and children.”

Special Name Scholarship Awards were also presented at the dinner. Recipients were as follows: Perry B. Duryea Scholarship, Martin Barlosky; E. Clinton Towl Scholarship, Patricia Ericksen; Donald M. Miller Scholarship, Barbara Timo. Each of the scholarships was named for a previous Distinguished Citizen.
