Student Handbook: Alpha Sigma Chi

Alpha Sigma Chi was organized on campus in January, 1961 and has ben very active ever since. We chose the name Alpha Sigma Chi because its letters are the same as those of the college [Adelphi Suffolk College], and with this in mind, we strive to combine the goals of the college with those of the sorority. Our goals are to carry forth the ideals of sisterhood, to stimulate moral and intellectual stability, and to foster and promote both loyalty and fidelity by devotion to mutual helpfulness. We have adopted a Korean child which we feel is the best way to show our desire to give to others. The money to support our adoopted child is raised at our annual Spring Fashion Show. Other social functions during the year include Beer Blasts and together with our brother fraternity, Alpha Sigma Delta, a champagne party and the Powder Puff Football Game. At present we have eighteen members.
