In the World: Caldecott and Newbery Awards

The American Library Association announced the winners of the Caldecott and Newbery Medals for 1969:

The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship illustrated by Uri Shulevitz

The High King by Lloyd Alexander
(Find in a library via WorldCat)

The Caldecott Medal is presented to the most distinguished American children’s picture book while the Newbery goes to the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
