At Dowling: Islip Town Board of Appeals Hearing

Wednesday, October 30, 1968

Appearing before the Islip Town Board of Appeals, the College sought permission for a number of projects aimed at the continued growth of the school, including:

  • a new library building
  • a boathouse
  • an athletic field house
  • a dormitory

In addition, they were petitioning for a change in an existing variance to permit an enrollment of 1,500 daytime students and the lights on campus to be on until 11:00 at night.

No action was taken and a second hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, November 13.
